Keri & Bart | Parents-To-Be | Lake County Maternity Photographer

This couple was an absolute joy to photograph.

The best part about them is that you can tell how much they love each other. They are madly in love and it showed in every single picture, which makes my job incredibly easy. They were the kind of people that you instantly meet and want to be friends with. You also know after being around them for a few minutes that they will be amazing parents.

It was clear how much they loved Gavin before they ever saw his sweet face.

And aren't they gorgeous?

Maternity sessions happen to be one of my very favorite because you are celebrating the life of someone you have never laid eyes on. All you know of them are their flutters and kicks. You imagine who they will be and who they will become but at this point they are a complete mystery. Some people avoid having pictures taken of themselves when they are pregnant because they may not love sporting a few extra pounds or all of the crazy things those ten months can do to you... but those are moments are an absolute miracle.  I have never met someone who said, "I wish I would not have captured that season of life in pictures." I only hear the opposite. I hear parents, mostly women, saying how they wish they had each of the pregnancies documented. The time we get to carry these little ones is limited so having pictures to look back on and remind yourself how exciting, overwhelming and scary it all seemed is priceless.

I asked them both to write down what they hoped Gavin would have of theirs.... and then of each other.

First comes love.... Then comes marriage! Round 1 | Central Florida Wedding Photographer

So a few months ago Erin and I started planning out her engagement session. We had a few ideas.... went back and forth and settled on a session at the fair. I had dreamed of a session at the fair... the colors, the fun stands and THE RIDES!! I was so excited! The day finally came. We started with a few shots in my neighborhood but moved quickly so we could catch the amazing light at the fair. We got there, got our tickets and made it on the ferris wheel. Everything was going really well. We decided to go into the fun house.... it was pretty crowded. We got all the way through and there was a line to take the slide down to the end. I decided to make my way back through and wait for the love birds down there... hopefully catching a shot of them when they came out. So down I went. Made it out just fine. I stepped off the last step, heard two loud pops and fell right to the ground. There were some quick gasps and two women walked over to help me up. I actually was in such shock and pain that I said, "I need a minute." It was part embarrassment and part pain that was so confusing. Luckily I hobbled over to a nearby bench where I almost passed out. Shocking, right? The fair employees kept asking if they needed to call the medics. I insisted I was fine until I realized I could not walk. So, I accepted the help because they assured me that it was simply a golf cart that would come. They arrived.... SIRENS AND ALL!! Horrifying! It quickly became a spectacle. The medics made me think my foot was going to fall off the way they reacted so I ended up heading straight to the ER. The session was over and my foot was broken. The only perk is that we ended up getting to do a round two of engagement sessions. Thanks Erin & Jon for being the most flexible, awesome and fun couple to photograph!!

{ Nate + Taylor are engaged! }

Lovers Key State Park | Katie Zamot Photogaphy | Southwest Florida Newborn, Children & Family Photographer

Congratulations Nate & Taylor.

I met them on their Spring Break trip down to visit family. Their aunt called me and booked me to do their engagement session. From my very first phone call with her I could tell she was fun and is definitely the kind of aunt everyone wants to have. There wasn't a dull moment during their session. Taylor is very sweet and Nate is the guy that is always cracking a joke. It was hard to keep him still for a picture but made candids/natural pictures a breeze.

Aside from almost getting kicked out of the state park, we had a great time. They are both finishing up school and starting a whole new chapter in life. Congratulations and good luck as you plan for the big day!

Natalie + 6 Month Session

     I met this sweet little lady for her six month session. She was as cute & happy as could be. Before we started her session she was all smiles. As soon as we got her in front of the camera she quickly got shy, leaving mom and dad to stand behind me and act a little crazy. But she was one of the happiest little girls. No matter where we put her or had her do, she was happy.

     Her parents were just as sweet, which makes meeting new clients so fun! From the moment Natalie's mom contacted me she was very sweet to say that she loved my work and completely trusted me with the directions for her pictures. I love that mom is already planning on booking Natalie's one year session! Thats absolutely the best compliment a photographer can get!

     These pictures were taken at my favorite field location that is being destroyed in order for them to build what I have been told will be condos. *sigh* More condos? Hoping to get to do at least one more session there... too many unexplored areas to not use!
